LAS VEGAS, NV – The 57th Annual MISS USA® Competition took place on April 11th at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and was broadcast live on NBC. Farouk Systems annually sponsors this incredible organization which affords these beautiful, talented women opportunities that fulfills a big vision and allows them to reach for the stars and accomplish their dreams! Farouk Shami believes in the Miss Universe organization and sees eye to eye with their humanitarian goals. He is a man that has pushed the limits and has gained massive success in the beauty industry. But beyond beauty is intellect and all women have the ability to grow in addition to be a part of numerous charities that allow these queens to gain an experience of a lifetime.

For the past several years, Miss USA and Farouk Systems has partnered up with the Best Buddies Organization, a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. This international organization has grown from one chapter to more than 1,300 middle schools, high schools, and college campuses across the country with accredited international programs on six continents. On March 29, 2008, the 51 Miss USA 2008 contestants and Miss USA 2007, Rachel Smith, paired up with 52 people with intellectual disabilities from Opportunity Village, where they all danced their socks off for the Best Buddies Sock Hop event! Prizes were awarded in a number of categories and at the end of the dance each buddy received a CHI duffle bag that included a number of products from each Farouk System brand – CHI, BioSilk and CHI Nails.
